Peru has triumphantly claimed the title of Miss Grand International 2023, marking a significant achievement in her pageantry career. The coronation event, held on October 25 at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, saw Fuster rising above 69 other hopefuls from across the globe, embodying the pageant’s theme, “Beauty with Readiness.” She succeeds the previous titleholder, Isabella Menin of Brazil, crowned in 2022.
During the tension-filled Q&A segment, a defining moment of the pageant, Fuster from Peru was questioned about the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. She expressed a desire to speak with Israel’s president, emphasizing the urgent need for peace and the release of hostages. Her heartfelt plea highlighted the importance of compassion and change in achieving a harmonious society.
The event wasn’t just about the main title. Several other participants received recognition for various achievements. The Golden Grand Award went to Ritassya Wellgreat of Indonesia, while Myanmar’s Ni Ni Lin Eian received the Country’s Power of the Year 2023 award. The best national costume was a three-way tie between Japan’s Yayoi Machida, Nigeria’s Boma Nokubo, and Vietnam’s Lê Hoàng Phương. Additional accolades included the best swimsuit, awarded to Skarxi Marte of the Dominican Republic, and the best in evening gown, which went to Anastasiia Volkonskaia of Russia. Kitava-Yvettlana Fosuwaa-Amankwaa of Ghana took home the Grand Voice Award.
As the pageant concluded, it was announced that Malaysia would host the next Miss Grand International event, scheduled for October 25, 2024. This continuation symbolizes the enduring spirit of the pageant, celebrating beauty, intellect, and compassion on a global stage.
